Happy Mother's Day & Check Out My Awesome Loot!

Hello world! I am just going to stop opening my blogs with apologies for not posting sooner and tell you I am working on being a better poster. My family knocked it out of the park for Mother's Day and got me some ahhhmazing gifts. I am so blessed to be so loved and felt inspired to do a one shirt and necklace/three ways post. I may or may not have big time hinted that I wanted this shirt from Ann Taylor. I had a really awesome coupon that was soon to expire so I gave it to Mr. Goat and told him the urgency of saving lots of money IF he wanted to maybe get me this shirt. Buy here

I cannot express to you how much more awesome this shirt is in person. It is so lightweight and comfy but so sexy and polished at the same time. I have so many clothes that I have started to only buy/ask for things that I know I will have for a long time, I really love and that can be worn many ways and for different seasons {ha, not that we even have seasons in Texas}.

I first saw this necklace on Real Housewives of the OC when Alexis' hubby gave her the $5k diamond version with all three kids initials. I then saw lots of versions floating around Pinterest and have been obsessed ever since. I wear a lot of statement necklaces and I love the idea of wearing them along with this layered. It is so delicate and sweet. I am in love. I was on the fence about the different sizes available. Most of the outfit posts I have seen have the extra large version but it is pretty pricey and it is almost 2" big which I was afraid would be too big to layer. I liked the idea of the medium because it was kind of in between. It is still 1" big so it's not like it is super small. You can get many variations of this at all different price points but I liked the Max & Chloe version. Buy here. So here are a few new outfits, hope ya'll had someone spoil you for Mother's day {or pet mommy's day} too!!

Adele - Rumour Has It

Love this with shorts and wedges because even though the shirt is a very nice and probably more work appropriate shirt, you can dress it down to still be able to wear in every day life. Although a bit dressy, this would be casual enough to wear to happy hour or out to lunch with girlfriends. I would wear the shirt untucked with a white tank underneath.

Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel

{At the request of my good friend} I am going to do a whole separate white skinny jeans post but I wanted to throw this outfit on here. If the Texas weather allows it, this is casual enough to wear during the day but would work for a dinner date although I would probably add heels in that case. I got a pair of white skinny jeans on clearance at TJ Maxx because I am still not totally sold on the idea of skinny jeans without boots over them. Let's be honest, I was such a hater of skinny jeans for so long that I feel a bit like a hypocrite wearing them but I am starting to come around. Oh and again, I would wear the shirt untucked with a tank under it.
Train - Drive By

This is def a more work appropriate outfit but I think I could get away with it for church or maybe a dinner date. This outfit is pretty much what solidified my obsession with this shirt. Ann Taylor had a very similar version of this in their window paired with a pair of white pants with a wide white tie belt and it looked so hot {like spicy hot} for summer work attire. To be honest it made me miss working just for the clothes! Haha! I love white pants in the summer time, especially to break up the monotony of shorts which are about all you can wear in Texas in summer. White pants repel the heat and stay cool (given they aren't lined, ughhh!) ANNNNND they go with everything! The only downside is having baby Goat and white pants do not mix.

Did I mention my child is freaking huge and I might have to change his name to Giant Baby Child Goat. It is boggling my mind and making me very sad. Where did little 8 lb. Goat go and who is this kid who answers questions, tells me "no", and gives me attitude?! Time to have another one I suppose. Hehe!

Anyway, there are a few uses of my mother's day loot! I sure cleaned up! What about you? What was on your wish list? Did you get anything super fab that you weren't expecting?

5 Outfits: One Pair of Tan Riding Boots

Hello friends!

2 posts in 2 days, I know, I know...I am going to fry my brain, lol! This is going to be kind of a quick one. If you haven't already been able to tell I am a huge fan of boots in the winter time. I think it stems from my secret want to live somewhere where it gets cold....I mean really cold...like snow on the ground and chillies under your jeans. It would just be so nice to not wear shorts in December. So I bought some super cute riding boots at Target last year and when I first got them I kind of had trouble figuring out what to wear with them besides a white shirt and my military army green jacket. I have to divulge a dirty little secret about my boots. I got them on super clearance for like $23 or something ridiculous even for Target...but....they are a size 10! I wear an 8, occasionally an 8 1/2 but I wanted them so bad and for that price I couldn't pass them up. So I wear two pairs of socks and my foot slips around but I am a slave for fashion so whatev! Whew! Now that I got that off my chest....

Anyway, now that I have formed a better understanding of my style and have become a little more adventurous with the boots, I have been able to come up with lots of fun outfits. So here are 5 I put together on Polyvore and since I got these boots last year, I am going to list a few similar pairs at various prices after the outfit posts. Enjoy!

My Christmas Top 5

I love Christmas! And I especially love presents! I know, I know. As adults we are supposed to "rise above" that part of Christmas and appreciate the season, what Jesus' life and death meant for all of us and embrace the forgiving and giving nature of the time. And I get all that, and we do all that. BUT, I still love presents! In the average day I would say "I want..." leaves my mouth at least 15 times. It's not always huge, expensive purchases. Sometimes, it is just "I want a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks." I like to blame the "I wants" on being an only child and not having a lot of money growing up. I also really enjoy online shopping. Having a 2 year old makes it hard to read or do crafts because I can't get super involved in any one thing without being distracted 18 times in 2o minutes. Online shopping can be left alone in the middle and all I have to do is shut my laptop and come back to it later. And if I forget what I was looking at, it probably wasn't anything I really wanted to buy anyway. But I think my online shopping addiction also contributes heavily to the "I want"s.

So all of that being said, I have a jillion things on my "I WANT..." pinterest list. I have decided to look through all of my pins and pick the top 5 things I especially want and why!

#1 - Michael Kors Hamilton Gold Plate Chain in Teak - $348

This is actually tied with the next thing on my list for the #1 things I want. I LOVE this bag. I am a total purse snob and I haven't gotten a new bag in a few years. I just haven't really seen much that I really had to have. Purses to me are an investment and good ones last. Therefore, I don't usually like crazy colors or designs (aside from leopard, it goes with everything) and I like classic colors and styles I will be able to have and use for years to come. I went and looked at this at Nordstrom and I am so glad I did because in the store they only sell it with silver hardware and it was HEINOUS! SO I ran home and googled to see if they had it with gold hardware and sure enough, they do. I first found it on the Michael Kors website but I like to make big purchases like purses, sunglasses and watches at Nordstrom because they are so great about returns and customer service. So they do sell it with the gold at Nordstrom, it's just an online only item.

#1B - Nikon 50mm f/1.8G Nikkor lens - $216.95

I got a Nikon D3000 last year as a "just because" present from my awesome hubby. Our point and click was seriously lacking, especially after I slammed it down on the cement with the lens open on accident while I was trying to pick baby Goat up one day. Our family photos was suffering because of it and it was hard to want to take pics of my presh baby boy when they all turned out so awful. My camera was a great family investment and it has made it so easy to get great pics. I haven't done much expansion to the starter kit though, because there was so much to learn with just the two lenses I got initially. So now that I have had it for a while, I have learned about bokeh photog (where the subject is in focus but the background is extremely blurry) which is my fave method to use. However, my main lens only goes down to an f stop of 4.5 and to get really good bokeh you need to be able to go down to at least 2.8. Nikon just released this new lens which goes down to f 1.8 and my camera body will auto focus this lens making it a little easier to use. So I REALLY want it! And a tip on camera equipment, wolfcamera.com offers free shipping AND no tax (which is HUGE when you are buying an $800 camera bundle!)

#3 - J. Crew Vintage Pajama Set in Hydrangea - $78.00
Source: jcrew.com via Callie on Pinterest

I LOVE these PJs. I love pretty much anything menswear. I have worn my oversized Men's Michael Kors watch pretty much every day since Mr. Goat got it for me. I started wearing boyfriend jeans in junior high and used to get made fun of for wearing such baggy jeans. I have stolen sweatshirts from every guy friend I have ever had! So these are just absolutely so me it is ridiculous! And I love that you can just wear the top in the summer time with some girlie boxers or something. And J. Crew gives you the option to have them monogrammed which I love even more. I wish they had more options but I think I would want them with a plain block initial, CJG in navy! So cute!!

#4 - KitchenAid Glass Bowl Attachment for Stand Mixer - $69.99

I have had my empire red KithchenAid Artisian Tilt Mixer for about 6 years now and absolutely love it. I didn't even really cook much when I got it, I just loved the novelty of it and knew I would have it forever. Now, it is the thing I use the most in my kitchen. I got the ice cream maker attachment, and I have a huge list of other attachments I want for it. I use it for scrambled eggs, shredded chicken, cookies, ice cream, cake, frosting, quiches, you name it! So, when I walked in to Williams-Sonoma 2 years ago and saw the 50th Anniversary Edition mixer in metallic Cherry Red WITH a glass bowl, I almost squealed with delight. First I tried to hatch a plan to get the special edition. Then I quickly though about all of the red appliances I have that match my mixer and decided I might tire of the metallic. So I started scouring ebay for someone who might be selling a glass bowl. Then one day I thought "why don't I call Williams-Sonoma and explain my dilemma and see what they say." And sure enough it turns out that they had a glass bowl attachment release planned for the following spring. So it has been on my want list since then. Now, Bed Bath and Beyond has it and that means a 20% off coupon can be used bringing it down to $56 which isn't bad!

#5 - Hunter Rain Boots in Navy Blue - $125

I just love these. I know it is a bit ridiculous to spend that much money on a pair of rain boots especially when I can go to Academy and get something very similar for $20. But I just love these! And how many pairs of rain boots will I buy in my life? So I think the money would be well spent. I think they are classic and I would get a ton of wear out of them.

So there it is boys and girls. Feel free to check any of these things off my list, haha! Are you making your list yet????
