Hey blog world! I know that I am speaking to no one as of yet, as this blog has been deserted for 2 years! Where does time go? I really enjoyed my blogging and was doing well at sticking with it but got kind of lost in what I wanted it to be. Blogging can be so intimidating and I fell into the vicious trap of comparing what I was doing/writing with what others are doing. I have a long list of blogs I follow regularly and really admire and enjoy. All of those blogs are different, different content focus (i.e. Fashion, cooking, baking, hair, makeup, crafting, painting, home decorating, home renovation, raising children, sewing, etc.) and I enjoy the variation in writing style, format, and content of each. So why am I trying to put my blog in a box and make it be one neat and tidy thing. It can be whatever I want it to be. I mean, isn't blogging really kind of like writing in a journal, except others can see it if you so chose anyway?! Missing writing and admiring other blogs has caused me to do a lot of contemplating of what and how to do this....
I find myself saying to anyone I come in contact on a regular basis (including strangers) "I saw the coolest thing on Pinterest...(insert coolest thing of the moment here)" and my house and clothing are basically a 3d life size version of my Pinterest boards. So yesterday, while I was driving down the road and caught myself saying to my hubby "I saw the coolest thing on Pinterest..." it clicked. I would change my blog to be just that. That's not to say I won't write about anything other than Pinterest but that will kind of be my focus....all the things I try, am inspired by and love or maybe even hate! So to the no one who is reading this, here we go again! New posts to come this week!

Hi my name is Callie and I am a Pinaholic...
I am bordering needing a 12 step program. I love it!!! If you live under a rock and don't know what pinterest is, it is an online place to keep track of anything and everything you could possibly want. So basically, you know when you see something you really like and want to remember on the internet. Well, before the amazingness that is pinterest, you had to right click and save the pic somewhere on your computer, hoping you would be able to relocate said picture at a later date. And then you had no record of where it came from so if you wanted to reference the site for something you had to try to refind it and good luck with that. Or you could save a bookmark but then half the time the picture would move or your bookmarks would be so out of control you had no idea what you marked or why....
Well pinterest ended all of that. It basically freezes the pic in time so even if the item you want to buy sells out or the picture gets deleted from someone's blog, you can still see it on your pinterest boards. And you can see everyone else's pins too so when you don't feel like being original and looking around the internet for new craft ideas or outfit ideas or home inspirations, you can just look at other people's. It's amazing! Thank God this wasn't around when I was getting married because I would have never done anything else but sat on Pinterest looking for ideas!! Anywho, you have to be invited to be part of it so if anyone would like an invite please let me know. Then we can attend pinaholics anonymous together! Here's a little something to prove my love and devotion!

Oops! And a t-shirt quilt!!
Yeah, so I missed two posts last week. Oops....
I am not going to beat myself up too bad about it though because I have been a busy girl! We house and dog sat for my sis in law last week for Thanksgiving and between making sure my family had everything they needed to live for 5 days at someone else's house and preparing for Thanksgiving at my Aunt & Uncle's (and not to mention filling A LOT of Goose Goose Couture orders as well) I didn't have much free time.

Us at my Aunt and Uncle's trying to get a decent pic!!
I also started on my sorority t-shirt quilt! I got the entire front done yesterday. I have never made any kind of quilt before so I have to admit I was quite nervous about it. So far it is going pretty well. I did the Too Cool method seen here. It was a lot more work than just doing the same size rectangles like many do but I will have this thing forever and knew if I took the easy way out it would irritate me so I am glad I did it the way I did. Here is a pic!

Jonesie has already claimed the quilt as his own so he wanted to be in the pic.
And I am a total sheet snob so I decided since the underside will be touching my skin I wanted to find a pretty patterned sheet to use rather than just getting that scratchy solid quilting fabric. So I originally really wanted leopard print and scoured Ross and Marshall's for a single flat sheet I could use. Well apparently people don't sell individual sheets much any more. I always remember when I was a kid going with my mom to the Wamsutta outlet store in New Braunfels and there being a vast array of individual sheets. I was so bummed! But, as quick as I got bummed I became unbummed and I dare to say even giddy when I dug in the back of a shelf at Ross to uncover a hidden treasure! AMY BUTLER MAKES SHEETS! Who knew??? If you are not familiar with Amy Butler don't look her up because you will soon be obsessed with her gorgeous (and slightly pricey and hard to find) fabric. I am obsessed with her print collections and could go absolutely crazy buying her fabric. So it took everything I had not to do a little white girl dance in the middle of the aisle. I got a full sheet set for $19.99. I am doing a large throw blanket so I will have a ton of sheet left so already have plans to make pillowcase dresses for a few of my fave little girls very soon! Here is the flat sheet!

I am also going to make thick bias tape out of the fabric to finish out the edges. It is going to be gorgeous and I will post more pics as I get it finished!
Anywho, we went to the Chuy's Children Helping Children Blue Santa parade last Saturday and had so much fun! It was rainy and cold but as soon as the parade started the sky cleared and we really enjoyed it! Here are a few pics. (Please excuse my lack of makeup!)

Gig em!!

I am actually going to do another post in a bit of UGG outfit ideas because Mr. Goat hit it out of the park for our anniversary and got me these!
I pretty much have not taken them off so I did a few outfits on Polyvore and will post them later today. Have a great day!!

Halloween, check! Thanksgiving, here we come, AND a new dress!!
Hello friends (who aren't reading this yet because I haven't shared the addy yet),
So I met my goal of 2 posts in the first week but I couldn't help but feel guilty not posting something else before now. I did a few DIY projects last week but my hubby was out of town all week and trying to document a DIY project step by step with pictures and keep up with a 2 year old is not my idea of a good time. I have a few great DIYs I am going to do this week for Thanksgiving decor around the house though so don't fret, I will feature a DIY very soon!!
It has been a hectic few days so let me fill you in really quick on that! Mr. Goat was in San Antonio working all week last week. We don't spend many nights apart so it was a trial having him gone for a whole week. He had a doctor's appointment and a few other things going on yesterday (Halloween) so rather than him come back to Austin for the weekend then drive back to San Antonio and then back to Austin and possibly miss Halloween, we chose to come to San Antonio for the weekend and then all just drive back to Austin after he was done on Monday. Although this made logical sense, it was a crazy and hectic few days. First of all, trying to pack for yourself, a toddler and 2 dogs by yourself is never a fun task. We don't believe in traveling light, we believe in bring too much and if you don't need it at least you were prepared. We are at that stage in Texas right now where it might be 40 degrees or it might be 90, and maybe all in the same day. This presents quite the packing challenge for myself and Baby Goat. So, I planned to leave the house at 2PM but then got an unexpected drop in from my mom in the morning which meant coffee, the park, and a little sewing before she had to leave at 2. Long story short, I didn't even START packing until 2. This put us on the road at 3:15 which put me smack dab in the middle of the statewide dreaded Austin traffic. It was terrible. And then I hit San Antonio traffic too. UGGHHHHH.....basically what should have taken me a little over an hour took me closer to 3. That's ok, we got there and got to see Daddy and decided to stay in on Friday night and take it easy.
Saturday morning we got up, made breakfast and then headed out by 10:45 to make it to our friends, The Cottens to watch the Ags play Mizzou (we lost, not just lost but handed it over, I don't want to talk about, thanks Mike Sherman, our last year in the big 12 and we are going out quietly, whatever) and to see their 5 week old new little girl! Braeden got to play with their 4 year old daughter, and we played some cards, watched some football, ate some yummy food, drank a few beers, and got a little taste of why I am not ready for another kid yet, haha! How quickly you forget the 2 hour feedings, the crazy poopy diapers every 10 minutes, the burping after every 2 oz., the insane number of blow outs, the wobbly head that feels like it is going fall off, pumping for 30 minutes to get 3 oz. of milk.... I love babies and loved when Braeden was a newborn, but I also love the age he is getting to now where he can go in his room alone and play for a little while and tell me what he wants for lunch.
Sunday morning, we got up and got dressed and went to the famous Milberger's Pumpkin Patch where they had a hay maze, train, bouncy house, and giant pumpkin patch. All the people who work there dress to the nines and hand out little treats and they have hot cider and hot chocolate (which tasted great in the 85 degree weather, haha!) My mom came and we met the Cotten clan and their sis and bro in law and their baby (we had a group of 8 adults and 4 babies under 4!) and I got tons of great pics, we put on Braeden's costume, and we all went to lunch after and enjoyed the shade and a nice patio! Braeden got a good nap in and we had dinner with Chris' parents.

Yesterday I waited around while Chris finished his stuff and then we booked it back to Austin as quick as we could to change into costumes and go trick or treating. We of course got stuck in Austin traffic and it took us longer to get through Austin then it took us to get from San Antonio back to Austin! We grabbed food, got home, got changed, and flew to Pfluggerville to trick or treat with my sis in law and bro in law and their kiddos and we got home at 9PM last night.

OH, and Braeden head butted me on Sunday night and gave me a black eye. When was the last time you cried from pain, because I sobbed like a little girl. Braeden stopped crying before I did. I was sure I was going to need stitches. It looks awful but the swelling has gone down and hopefully it will stop changing colors soon.

Alrighty, so that was a long winded explanation of our weekend. (hubby would say "cliff notes Callie, cliff notes!") The main reason I wanted to post was that I bought a new dress! I dicovered this amazing (and cheap!) boutique called Vestique on Pinterest. They are based out of North Carolina. I could spend a small fortune, even as inexpensive as they are but I have no business buying clothes, my closet can't handle much more so I picked out one dress that I loved and will be able to wear multiple ways. One of the things I see on other people's blogs are multiple ideas for the same piece of clothing. So I decided to do a "one dress, three ways" post. Here it is!
MICHAEL Michael Kors michael kors handbag, $348
Lee Angel Jewelry cuff bangle, $98
Sterling silver jewelry, $53
MICHAEL KORS Oversized Gold Chronograph Watch, £219
vestique.com | a unique shopping experience, $42
Nocona Women's Old West Tan Cowboy Boots - Snip Toe, $190
My whole justification for buying this dress was to wear to my friend, Kelly's baby shower so this is what I plan to wear. It is in Boerne, a sleepy little Texas town where fab cowboy boots are a must. I just need that Michael Kors bag, Christmas list, christmas list!
J Crew chain jewelry, $58
J crew jewelry, $38
MICHAEL Michael Kors Oversized Chronograph Goldtone Watch, 44 mm, $250
vestique.com | a unique shopping experience, $42
Roady Boot in Khaki - Francesca's Collections, $68
This is totally a fab outfit I can save to wear when someone calls at the last minute and wants to go do something where I wanna look cute but don't wanna think about it.
Ugg australia boots, $200
MICHAEL Michael Kors black leather tote bag, $348
MICHAEL Michael Kors gold watch, $250
vestique.com | a unique shopping experience, $42
I am hoping for these UGGS, I have cheap generic fuggs from Target but they are a mess and need to be thrown away. I think this would be a great outfit for a casual happy hour or an easy outfit for a road trip where I need to look cute at the end because we are going straight from the road to meet family or friends.
Alrighty, so I won't keep all of you much longer. This post is getting a little wordy. Stay posted for a DIY this week!!!

Christmas In October
Hello world!
Look at me, two posts, in two days! I think that might be a blog record for me even on my business blog! My hubby is out of town for the week in San Antonio which makes for boring evenings after little goat goes to bed (btw in case you don't know, our last name is Gauthier earning us the much despised *by me anyway* nickname of the Goats). I promised myself I was going to start with a reasonable goal of 2 posts a week and if I did more than that, awesome. I love to write and don't think it will be a problem to write 2 a week, I just wanted to make sure I didn't go into this with some crazy grandious plan (like one of my kajillion previous ideas of having a daily what I wore today blog, let's be honest, I am a stay at home mom, I am doing good if I am out of pjs and in a t-shrirt and workout shorts by 2PM!) but instead made an executable goal while I figure out just how much time I can allow for this. I do have a ton of great things I am super excited to post about (like my brand new recipe for fresh basil aioli, my fabulous new sequin shirt waiting to be worn in my closet, my failed attempt at funfetti cake batter fudge, or my redying and staining of a pair of pink Luchesses that don't get nearly enough wear) but all in due time.
For now, I occupied my dull and lonely evening last night with preparing for our Christmas cards. Mr. Goat got me a fabulous camera last year (a Nikon D3000) so I am going to be doing our photo shoot myself with a few tools:
1. My super bad ass Nikon D3000 camera
2. my $6 tripod from Goodwill!!
3. A soon to have purchase for $13.99, Nikon wireless remote to allow me to be able to control my shutter release without having to run back and forth and set the damn auto timer thing

Purchase at Best Buy Here....
4. My super cute family
5. a well planned outfit board
6. A chalkboard to write "merry christmas" on, which I will be making today, or maybe tomorrow....I am feeling kind of lazy....
7. photoshop!!!
So, one of the things that I have alot of trouble with (even as creative as I am) is thinking outside the box when it comes to family pictures. I always radiate towards simple, everyone wear a white shirt and jeans, everyone wear pastels, everyone wear shades of browns with khakis, everyone wear an aTm jersey. And that just isn't fun. I have so enjoyed some of the other blogs I read (see: Modestly Styled. Modestly Me.'s preChristmas board from last year here and the fabulous execution here) and their creative ideas for Christmas pics so I decided "I love photoshop, I can do that!" And here is my result! Clothing credits after the pics!

Braeden:
Target plaid shirt
Target skull sweater
Old Navy dark wash jeans
Converse chuck taylor slip ons
Mr. Goat:
Banana white button down basic shirt
J. Crew navy blue merino wool cardigan
7 for all mankind relaxed jeans
Cole Haan with Nike Air loafers
Mrs. Goat
J. Crew chartreuse ruffle sweater
J. Crew silk and cotton navy and cream striped tank
True Religion skinny jeans
Target tan boots
Same as before except Target gray beanie for Braeden, Wal-Mart gray beanie and J. Crew university coat for Mr. Goat and Target charcoal page boy hat and Old Navy military jacket for Mrs. Goat.
I decided to do two looks but add all the bundling up in the second look because, even though this is Texas and I am pretty sure parts of the state are still seeing 100+ temps, I love the look of cold weather and being bundled up. So we might have a heat stroke but darn it, we are going to think and act cold! I have added a few pics that I am liking for inspiration that make my vision make a little more sense. What do you think of our outfits??? Cute or still too safe??
This is where the idea for bundling up came from, don't they look presh! And it helps that my hubby looks hot in a beanie! I actually saw those letters at JoAnn fabrics and was thinking about getting them (hell, I still might) but I am thinking the chalkboard will be just as cute to use
I do love the idea of this, but I don't have a silhouette yet (any sponsors reading yet? I will gladly take one! haha!) so cutting out the letters would be alot of work plus Braeden would probably end up breaking it in half or some other crazy drama!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this, and might try to get a shot like this but Braeden is only two and I don't think he would quite get it yet, we are doing good if we can get him to smile at the camera, covering his eyes long enough for me to simultaneously take the picture and kiss my hubs might be impassible (possible for someone, just not this girl)
This is just to show the chalkboard. Although those children are adorable, one of the things I love most about getting Christmas cards is getting to see my friends, many of which I don't get to see alot and their family's pictures. Maybe I am lying, maybe I just like sending a pic of myself to everyone so they have to display a pic of me in their home for at least a week, but you won't catch this girl doing a card without the whole family (except for maybe the dogs, they are drama)
we have not done a top 10 list yet in a family Christmas card although I have written one every year intending to do one. So I love the idea of doing a double sided card and doing the top 10 list on the back. I will probably not do any pics, or maybe add one of the dogs or something, but I would love to try to do this on ours and to try to make sure I do, I have already started my top 10 list! I design and print our cards myself (although there happens to be a print shop right next to our apartment so I might have to check them out) so I am trying to be way ahead of the game. 3 out of the 4 Christmases Chris and I have shared I failed miserably at getting our cards out even though they have been designed 2 of those 4 years. It's not gonna happen this year, I am a woman on a mission and they are going in the mail December 1st!
So that's it for today, I am going to watch an episode of Lost on Netflix and enjoy a glass of iced tea until nap time is over. Hope everyone enjoyed my random rambling about Christmas cards. Are you thinking about your Christmas cards yet? Have you started planning? What day do you mail yours out??
